Which branding method for which corporate gift

Every product in our catalogue lists its print method. This page explains what those methods are, which materials each one suits, what artwork we need from you, and how quantity changes the price.

The six methods we use

Silkscreen

Ink is pushed through a stencil, one colour per screen. It is our most common method: the GCloud Hoodie Sweatshirt, the GCloud Sport Drink Bottle, the Webcam Privacy Cover, the Levitating Bonsai Pot and the 600D Oxford Travel Duffel Bag all take silkscreen. Best for one to three flat colours on fabric, plastic and coated metal. Gradients and photographs do not silkscreen well.

Each colour needs its own screen, so setup is priced per colour and the unit price falls fastest with quantity. Minimum order: 50 pieces.

Embroidery

Thread stitched into the fabric. We use it on the Nylon Laptop Backpack, the Casual Baseball Cap and the Unisex Essential Polo (Lacoste T/C, 65% polyester, 35% cotton). It outlasts any print on apparel and reads as premium. Keep the logo simple: very small text and thin lines lose definition in thread. Minimum order: 30 pieces.

UV print

Ink cured with ultraviolet light straight onto the surface, so it takes full colour and fine detail on hard goods. The LED Display Thermos Flask and the Stainless Steel Thermos (stainless body, matt pearl coated finish) are UV printed. The Metal Gel Pen can be UV printed or laser engraved.

Laser engraving

The laser removes the surface layer, so the mark is the material itself: no ink, nothing to wear off. We offer it on the bamboo lid of the Bamboo Lid Lunch Box (SUS304 stainless steel body) and on the Metal Gel Pen. One tone only, in whatever colour sits under the coating.

Full-colour print

CMYK print for artwork with photographs, gradients or many colours. The Fiberglass 2 Fold Umbrella (pongee fabric), the Cloud Round Coaster and the Premium Gift Bag (190gsm art card) are printed full colour. Minimum order: 100 pieces.

Heat transfer and HD print

Heat transfer presses a printed film into the fabric; we use it on the Confetti Accessory Pouch. HD print on the Natural Cotton Bag (100% cotton) holds finer detail than silkscreen on canvas.

Which method for which material

Cotton and polyester apparel: embroidery for polos, caps and backpacks; silkscreen for tees and hoodies.

Canvas and cotton bags: silkscreen for a flat logo, HD print for detailed artwork.

Stainless steel drinkware: UV print for colour on a coated body.

Bamboo, wood and metal pens: laser engraving.

Paper and art card: full-colour CMYK print.

Umbrella panels: full-colour print.

Artwork we need

Your logo as a vector file: AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. A JPEG or PNG pulled from a website is not sharp enough to print.

Pantone references for silkscreen and embroidery colours, so the print matches your brand guide rather than a screen.

For full-colour print, images at 300 dpi at the printed size.

Where the logo goes and how large. If you are not sure, say so on the quote request.

Quantity, price and lead time

Minimum orders are 50 pieces for silkscreen, 30 for embroidery and 100 for full-colour print; UV print, laser engraving and heat transfer are quoted per product. Production takes 10 working days once the artwork is confirmed. Send the product, the quantity, the branding method and your artwork with the quote request, and the quote comes back with the unit price at your quantity.

Screens, embroidery digitising and print plates are fixed setup costs, so the unit price drops as the quantity rises. The same logo on a different product is a separate setup.

Orders ship from our warehouse in Selangor. As a guideline, Malaysia and Singapore take 3 to 5 working days after dispatch; Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand 3 to 7. We ship to 14 countries across Asia Pacific. If the date is critical, tell us on the quote request and we can usually find a way to meet it.
